“Pedestrian Precinct /Fußgängerzone” “Cityscale “- Siemens Sanat for Istanbul Biennial 2011
The outlines of an imaginary city are just visible. The door stands open. A lot of footprints head towards the centre of the city; they stop at a translucent wall, maybe they manage to break through. We see the feet from below. The lower surface is important as we need to see the scars that are made while walking. They walk over a path full of salt. In my work I want to emphasize man with his wishes and hopes for a new life in the city but probably with his defeats as well. Material: Photo of mixed cities, plaster feet, wooden door
