Kodama is a minute liturgy of transfigurations, a simple ritual, a song to nature and its creative
force. A spirit that resides in the tree, Kodama is in search of its earthly form: slowly it
transforms and embodies itself, in a delicate balance with the ecosystem. Kodama is a wild creature
that allows itself to be watched and offers itself as silent witness to a possible reconciliation
between the human and nonhuman worlds. Technical requirements: a natural setting, possibly wild (e.g.,
a clearing in a forest, a place near a spring or a stream, a space among trees or between hills). We
need a flat area of about 4sqm to rest a reflective surface on which we move. We work with natural
light. The performance is site-specific, so depending on the environment and context it will find its
