Material: Driftwood, metal Dimensions: 6 x 4 x 4 m
About: Cornelia Konrads’ work is revealed in the undergrowth of the Villa, a swirling movement of the forest energy between the meadow in the north garden and the scrubland in the south garden. As if born from the major elements of the island: wind and wood, the sculpture seems to fly away before our eyes in the middle of the oaks. Land Art artist, she questions with poetry and humour the relationship between Man and Nature with dreamlike works that reconcile these two forces. The whirlpool is composed of driftwood gleaned by the artist and the National Park teams on the island’s coasts. Carried by the sea currents around Porquerolles, they now tirelessly continue their flight among the trees.
