Emmanuelle Briat

Nourished by her experiences in contact with a luxuriant nature, still somewhat untouched by man, imbued with memories of the rebirth of a family garden in Brittany, Emmanuelle Briat establishes an attentive and caring relationship with plants. The artist listens to the natural elements she encounters during her travels, her explorations of the land and invitations to work in situ. She observes the ability of plants to adapt following domestication and climate change. Fascinated by the strength of natural elements, phenomena thatcan take over, she composes installations with plants that express the power of plants to insert themselves, to take root. Her explorations of environments, whether natural or developed by the hand of man, lead her to glean natural treasures. Emmanuelle works as much in interiors as in open-air spaces, in both urban and rural contexts. Passionate, guided by her sensitivity, Emmanuelle Briat refines her approach and her work with plants by studying the behavior of plants. She is attentive to their structure, their mobility and flexibility.
