Her Native Bleeding Heart- art in nature installation at Mill Point in Great Sandy Straits World
Heritage listed National Park, it is a hand stitched ball gown from Macaranga leaves, red cotton,
tulle suspended above the lake. The site was once a timber mill and logging village in the late 19th
century, where a village existed at the edge of the lake. The gown reflects the colonial dress of the
time and the native species of leaves used for the work refer to the indigenous history of the site.
