Windless shelter

DSC00682.jpeg

In April 2023, Jette Mellgren and I attended the Tankwa Artscape residency and created two sculptures
inspired by wind shelters built by the San bushmen on the neighbouring Tankwa Karoo National Park.
These original stone shelters and our two interpretations face south east to protect against the cold
north westerly wind. Our two sculptures are placed 200m from each other in small, natural dips. You
cannot see one from where the other is and both can fit two to three people curled up inside.
