- AiNIN brings together artists and organisers working across disciplines to create site-specific art rooted in place. This includes visual art, music, performance, writing, choreography, photography, video, and emerging media—provided the work is conceived for and experienced within a specific site.
- AiNIN artists create with place, not on top of it. Each work responds to the site’s history, ecology, geology, cultural narratives, and the people connected to it. The aim is not to treat the site as a backdrop or container, but as an active collaborator.
- Our projects seek to reveal, deepen, and sometimes restore relationships between people and their environments. We prioritise sensitivity over extraction, and engagement over spectacle.
- Collaboration and knowledge-sharing sit at the core of AiNIN. Members exchange opportunities, ideas, and experiences openly, supporting one another rather than competing. This spirit extends to the communities we work with.
- AiNIN also supports the development of site-specific events, residencies, and gatherings, working with local organisations as Organising Members.
- We advocate for fair conditions for artists and actively promote models where artists are paid appropriately and supported through accommodation, food, and other resources.
- While many members maintain practices beyond site-specific work, AiNIN focuses on work that is inseparable from place.
