Sculptor born in 1963. Studies of Plastic Arts at the University of Paris I, Lille III and at ERSEP in Tourcoing; Doctor of Arts and Sciences of Art; Associate Professor of Plastic Arts. Sculptor inscribed in an intense relationship with nature and plants, Artist representative of Land Art. He uses materials from the natural environment and questions the landscape and the relationship between man and his environment. Made of natural material, often wood, the work blends into the landscape. Perishable, it will eventually be swallowed up by nature. Its existence wants to be part of a natural cycle. Ephemeral, only passing through, it returns to the earth… Attentive to the relationship of man with his environment, he tries through his installations to share his thoughts on nature. The sculptures try to reveal the primordial character of the plant world and the forest in particular for humanity. They question the gestures and attitudes of man with matter. Even if the majority of the sculptures play on in situ installation and are more or less ephemeral in a “natural” space. He also produces many pieces in urban areas, showrooms or museums. With a large studio, he creates smaller sculptures or prepares projects to install elsewhere. Beyond their autonomy, they can be similar to experimental projects on a reduced scale for monumental constructions to come… Using various materials (wood, steel, bronze, resin…), he plays with their expressive power and produces interior works but always speaking of their relationship to nature. Capable of moving from modestly sized studio sculpture to monumental landscape-scale achievements, the works develop an intense structural relationship with space and light. The workshop asserts itself as a place of preparation. Texts and multiple drawings precede all the achievements. And for those that have not yet been made, they allow us to imagine what they could be.
