It is definitely worth taking some time to view Matthias Block’s installation in the castle
courtyard. With the meaningful title ‘19 und 1’, it extends across the entire rotunda – a simple
calculation that fits in with the 20 years of Rumpenheim art. So, count them in the castle courtyard
and then look for the ‘and 1’. Of course, the artist doesn’t make it quite that easy for us (again).
He is already known for works that irritate and force you to look closely.
Looking up, you will find No. 20 on the central building of the Castle. The spheres in the
installation are faithful replicas. A symbolic dialogue between art and the history of art. 20 golden
spheres that stand for years and make this time tangible and visible!
